Grand opening of Khwai Pre-School

WE MADE IT HAPPEN!!

On Tuesday 12 February we eventually opened our pre-school in Khwai. After months of planning, cleaning, building and sometimes waiting we were able to hand it over to the people of the Khwai village this week.

We now have 35 kids registered to go to the school and you could tell from their faces that they can't wait to have their first proper school day ahead. They all came nicely dressed and some of them even with a cute backpack. The minute they saw the inside of the school their eyes were shining and together with Lynn from LAMbInternational they started to go through the alphabet and learned numbers. Each and every child is hungry to learn and that is just fantastic!

Phetso the pre-school teacher was as excited as the kids themselves as she now can start with her big passion - teaching and passing on all her knowledge to the kids of Khwai! With her calm and loving personality she will achieving a lot here.

The kids in the school will be provided with one meal per day that covers all the vitamins and contents a child needs. This is a great way of also making sure the kids stay healthy and receive all the care they need.

We want to say a big THANK YOU to Lynn and Ruby Johnston from LAMbinternational, Naletsana Charity Organisation and Khwai Private Reserve to make all this happen.
